Adventure #4 Skiing at Wolf Mountain!

Night Skiing is my newest favorite thing to do during the winter months!  Night skiing starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. which gives us a perfect 4-5hrs of ski time.  This is ideal for my little skiiers, and for me too!  The other nice thing about night skiing is it is less crowded, less expensive, I don't have to worry about Saturday crowds or pulling the kids out of school.  It's nice for Dan as well because he can still work most of the day!  Monday night is Family night up at Wolf Mtn. so it's $40 for a family of 4!  To rent skiis for the kids cost only $7.50.  Such a fun and inexpensive way to enjoy an expensive sport!  Wolf Mtn is great, it's the smallest resort in Utah, but it lights up it's entire mountain for night skiing!  There is a fun snowboard park and it's very family friendly, a perfect mountain for the kids.  I can't believe I am saying this but I can't wait for next winter so we can take the kids back!

Sophia's 18 Month Pictures!

I was over-due with have Sophia's 18 month old pictures taken, and on top of that it's a hard time of year to be taking pictures.  Well I'd asked my sister in law to take some pictures and she called me up on a day the snow had frosted everything!  It was cold and my little ones were awesome.  We made it super quick and had warm cars running, but you can tell how cold it was!  They turned out so cute the black and white background looks so awesome with the bright palate of colors they are wearing!  I love how we were able to capture the farm at winter time!  We also captured some of Sophie's classic expressions!  I love capturing precious moments!  Thanks Steff Joe. If you click on the pics they are clearer.

Adventure #3 First time Skiing!

I've been wanting to get up to Beaver Mtn. with my kids for a long time.  I've wanted to get up to the Mtn. myself and snowboard, but for the past 7yrs I've either been pregnant, recovering from a baby or nursing.  This year our kids are at the perfect age to start skiing so after getting Dan on board, we headed up with my Dad's ward for a night of skiing at Beaver Mtn.!  We and so much fun, I thought I was going to be stiff as a board the next day, but surprisingly I could totally move the next day without any pains!!  I definately noticed my lack of stomach muscles though as I was manuevering on my board, but just like riding a bike I was surprised how much came back to me!  Watching my kids was so much fun, I didn't think they would catch on as easily as they did, I assumed there would be endless crashes.  I thought for sure Brodyn would be over it in 5 mins!  They surprised me by figuring it out and being able to ditch the magic carpet and head down the lift with us.  Emmy did get a ride down in Dad's arms on a few runs, but she still did great!  They both hung out at the magic carpet for awhile, Emmy was the first to spread her wings (as she usually is) and she and Dan were the first on the lift!  Brodyn held back a little longer a little more reserved which is typical of him!  But after negotiating with him he did go down the lift, the first couple times he was not impressed, but after Dan and Matt helped him down a few runs, and he discovered the cat walk, he was all over it! He is my cautious kid, but after he's discovered he can do it, then there is no holding him back.  He was ready to go skiing the following night!  Emmy my little sweetheart is all guts, she'll jump without one ounce of hestitation.  Matt, Cade, Corey, my dad and Lance came up with us, what a fun group!
