Dinner up Blacksmith Fork Canyon!

We went with some of the Brenchley crew up Blacksmith Fork Canyon to have dinner.  This is one of the reasons summer is such fun.  It is so nice to be able to grab a few hotdogs and head up the canyon!  Emmy loved playing in the dirt and she acquired some dirty little hands! Before dinner we needed to wash her up so this was how Dan washed off her hands!

Bear Lake!

Paul and Nicole invited us to her family's cabin in Bear Lake.  It was fun and we got to go boating which the kids really enjoyed!  Brodyn and Carson tried fishing off the dock and boat with no success!  Dan and Brody got into the water, it was not quite noon, so it was a little chilly. Brody wasn't ready to get wet!

Mouse in the House!

I hate two things at our house...mice and mosquitoes, this is a mouse incident. It was bedtime, we were in the kid's bathroom brushing teeth, when a little mouse ran under the door into the bathroom then back out to Emmy's room! After I screamed, we decided this little rodent would not leave Emmy's room alive...or survive to poop throughout my entire house. so we barricaded the doors pulled out everything from the walls and closets...and waited!  Dad of course came to the rescue with the trusty broom and after a half hour of chasing that mouse from one corner of the room to the next and back again, we got him with the broom and tossed him half dazed and dead outside on the road. Emmy's room was a disaster, and the kids and I stayed clear of the floor while dad saved the day. The next day I had to clean and disinfect everything in Emmy's room! One little mouse will turn our house upside down!

Brodyn's Swimming Lessons!

Swimming Lesson's was mostly fun this year. Brodyn got sick about 1/2 way through and had to miss a day, after that he didn't want to keep going...I had to drag him there! I think he wanted to swim longer but knew that when the whistle blew he had to get out.  I think he was relieved to be done! He is such a little fish, I think he prefers to play in the water not sit still and listen.

Bear Lake and Raspberry Shakes!

Stephanie and I decided to head up to Bear Lake on Saturday July 24th...it was crazy busy. We still had a lot of fun. I think Brody and Emmy enjoyed the sand more than anything else!  I love Bear lake because the water comes up and forms these wadding pools, which are warm...probably not so clean, but my kids love them!  Brodyn did not want to leave, I think he could have played here all day! After we finished playing on the beach, we stopped and had a delicious raspberry shake. It's tradition, we can't go to Bear Lake without stopping for this classic "raspberry shake!"

Smithfield Canyon!

While Dan was in Jackson Hole on a bike trip, the kids and I went up Smithfield Canyon to have dutch oven potatoes and chicken with the Thatchers! Here is Caroline and Emmy.  I can't remember why she is "shirt-less" in some of these pictures, but she's giving me a little jig!
