Happy Birthday Emmy

Happy Birthday Princess, Grandma Brenchley made this adorable lady bug birthday cake, because I called her on my lunch break (I ended up having to work all day on Emmy's birthday), upset because I couldn't find a cake decorator to do a "Tinkerbell" birthday cake in the short amount of time that I had, since I had procrastinated.

It was my fault to begin with, I was going to order the cake the day before, of course the cake decorators come in in the mornings to make their orders, and then go home by lunchtime. Well the day before I got so busy, I didn't want to call because I wanted to go look in their cake book first. Any way I never made it to the bakery.
I felt so bad I actually started crying in all my frustration to find a cake, because I felt like such a bad mom. I know she is only turning 1, and she'll never remember, but I had made such a big deal of Brody's 1st birthday, and I felt I wasn't giving her the same. (2nd child syndrome!)
So I am never going to work on my kid's birthday again, I am going to always take it off, and get things ordered and prepared the day before!! It ended up working out so cute. My 'Tinkerbell' theme birthday party was a hit, because the Ladybug cake matched perfectly, because there are ladybugs in the new Tinkerbell movie which she got for her birthday, so everything blended well.
Of course she didn't dig in right off, it took her awhile to check it out and decide what to do, but after a few tastes she was all over that business and stuffed her face!! I had to give her a quick bath before she opened all the presents! it's been almost three weeks now and her balloons are stilling floating, I can't believe it!
