Honey Harvest!

This is our second year harvesting our honey! Dan's becoming quite the bee keeper!  The crazy thing is how much he enjoys it, even after the inevitable bee stings that come with the job!  We all got together at Nate and Christy's garage again, they are so nice to let us invade for the day!  Then Dan and Nate worked hard spinning the honey combs.  It was a little slow going this year because it was cooler which makes the honey thicker so it doesn't flow as fast.  Nate and Christy made yummy, yummy scones which we dipped into our fresh honey!  Dan's like the 'Little Red Hen' in this area, because he does all the hard work and I just enjoy the spoils!!  It's nice to switch roles for once!!  We got 10 gallons of honey, and should get a little more, because he's got another hive to harvest which wasn't quite capped full.  Our honey is darker and richer in color this year.  We've wondered where those little bees have been?
