Brodyn picking his hole!
Emmy waiting for dad to bait her ice-fishing pole he got her for Christmas! Brodyn waiting patiently. He is an amazing fishermen! He's perfected the silent waiting technique needed when fishing!
still waiting and watching!
Emmy enjoying her hot chocolate and marshmallows!
Dad and Emmy just waiting. We had three holes with three poles and we didn't catch one fish the entire time! Luckily our neighbors just 4 feet around us were catching fish left and right and let Brody and Emmy each take a turn reeling in a fish!
Nate helping Emmy reel in her fish! All though our luck was not great we had so much fun!
Dad switching bait...in hopes for some better luck! Next time we will try different bait and a different spot!

Sleigh Riding with Dad!

We have had a lot of fun with our 4-wheeler this winter. Emmy and Brodyn love to ride behind it on their sled. Here is the family all ready for some fun! We have the greatest dad ever! After every ride we come in for hot chocolate with marshmallows and straws. Brody is the bravest, he loves to do all sorts of tricks, here he is riding "without hands!" Emmy will do "one-handed"...so funny!
"Bull-riding style!" Now he likes to ride on his knees and belly!
Brody chillin' in the back seat!
Emmy's turn!
We drove all the way down to Grandma Thatcher's, to feed the horses dragging are brood behind! Without their face shields on it's a cold ride. We forgot Brodyn's last time and he had chapped lips for a week!
Ready to go!
Cruisin' behind the house in Grandpa's field, disturbing all the mice and conveniently running them over!

My Darling Brodyn!

Brodyn you turned 5 years old today, where did the years go? The first time that I realized that yes indeed you would grow up, was when you started to crawl. Your baby soft knees became dry, a little rough and slightly callused! Now you keep growing, you are getting taller and skinnier. Each birthday that comes and goes seems to gradually melt away a baby feature here and another there. I miss you, I miss you, every stage that passes me by. I see your little pictures and I look at that tiny face and it's hard to remember that little baby boy, because my 5 year old is who I can't get enough of now!
I love you Brodyn. You are my pride and joy..."I'll eat you up...I love you so!" Happy Birthday!
Here is a look at some fun presents Brody got! I think his favorite is that orange gun. It makes sounds and smokes and cocks open to put pretend bullets in!
Grandma and Grandpa Thatcher came by and dropped off an awesome hotwheel race track, here's both of them trying to help Brody put it together!
Too much fun!
We actually had a birthday celebration the Saturday before. When you pick up the cake and balloons up on Saturday because you can't on Sunday, it is just too much to ask a toddler to wait a whole other day to open presents!!
Take a deep breath and blow!
Always making silly faces at the camera!
The Brenchley grandkids, ready to eat pizza, cake and ice cream!
Best day ever!
This birthday, Brody is obsessed with the movie "How to Train your Dragon!" We actually all love it, so here is his dragon birthday cake!
Happy Birthday sweetheart...I love watching you grow and I treasure every moment and every stage that passes us by!

Christmas 2010

The Brenchley Family Christmas party started off with an excellent rendition of the nativity, Lance being so willing to play the part of the donkey!  Grandma Brenchley made all the grand kids adorable stick horses which they loved. It is definitely one of their favorite gifts this year !  Brody called his horse "Blue" (every horse of his is black and named Blue)!  Grandma Brenchley makes each grandchild a stocking when they are born and stuffs them full for the kids to open at the Christmas party!  She also had all sorts of crazy games for us to play, one was a gum-ball game. You had to roll 4 gum-balls across the table and get them to stick on a line of tape.  You had only 30 seconds to do it!  Another game Grandma placed 4 candy canes across the edge of the table or chair and then you had to bite a stick which was attached to a 5th candy cane and without any hands you had to get all 4 candy canes onto the candy cane hanging from your mouth!  The kids made out like bandits in the money roll game!  So did Dan and I, the Banham's cheated like always of course!!

The Thatcher Family party started off with the nativity as well, and shortly after Santa strolled in.  He seems to always make for the the Thatcher Christmas party!  The first thing Brody said to Dan after getting off Santa's knee was..."It's just Reed dressed up dad, it's not the real Santa." I can't believe he knew, especially when every other year before it's been Berry, maybe that is why... he was expecting the Berry-Santa!

For our ward Christmas party, we did a live nativity, with a real camel!  Brody was an angel, along with all the other sunbeams!!  They sang "Christmas Bells are Ringing" and shook bells!

Christmas morning was awesome as always, Grandma and Grandpa Thatcher made it right in time for Dan's traditional pancake, eggs, sausage, hash brown breakfast!!
